Loris Voluntarily Transferred to ENV
On April 8th a loris was voluntarily turned over to ENV by a Hanoi resident after he discovered about the ENV hotline on the internet. This loris was transferred to the Endangered Primate Rescue Center at Cuc Phuong National Park.

Two leopard cats rescued from restaurant
Two leopard cats were rescued from a Hanoi restaurant following a report to the ENV Wildlife Crime Hotline by a Hanoi resident. Environmental Police transferred the leopard cats to Soc Son Rescue Center.
Frozen Tiger Confiscated
A frozen tiger was confiscated by police from a home in Tuyen Quang province. Two people were arrested.

Frozen wildlife confiscated
Wildlife protection officers in Ba Ria Vung Tau province confiscated a civet and 2kg of deer meat from a local restaurant after receiving a tip through the ENV hotline. The restaurant owner was also fined.
Wildlife confiscated from the illegal trade
On 29th February 2008, approximately seven tons of pangolins and pangolin scales were discovered in a container at the port of Hai Phong city. According to customs officials, the container was labeled as containing fresh fish and was on its way from Indonesia to China, transiting through Hai Phong.

Stuffed civets confiscated
Three stuffed civets were confiscated from a shop by Forest Rangers in Quang Tri province after ENV passed along to authorities information received on the hotline. The owner was fined 800,000 VND.
Gibbon Confiscated in Ho Chi Minh
A Northern white-cheeked gibbon was confiscated from a resident’s home in Ho Chi Minh city after neighbors reported the gibbon to the ENV crime hotline. Gibbons are listed as fully protected under Decree 32. The gibbon was transferred to a rescue center.
Tigers Confiscated in Hanoi
On January 7, two young live tigers were confiscated from a private vehicle in Hanoi by Environmental Police. Police went on to raid the home of one suspect recovering four frozen tiger carcasses, rhino horn and elephant ivory, and a number of bear paws. The two live tigers were transferred to Soc Son Rescue Center.
Live civets confiscated from restaurant in Hai Phong
Three common palm civets and two marked palm civets were confiscated from a restaurant in Hai Phong after volunteers from the ENV’s national Wildlife Volunteer Network inspected the restaurant and discovered the caged animals. Local authorities were notified and the civets were confiscated and transferred to a small carnivore rescue center at Cuc Phuong National Park.
Loris turned in to ENV
A slow loris was turned in to the ENV Wildlife Crime Unit by a Hanoi resident after he observed the animal for sale on the street. The loris was later transferred to the Endangered Primate Rescue Center.
